Principal Investigator - Certified Environmental Professional

Joe Trnka, AICP, CEP: Joe Trnka has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and a Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) since 2002. He has worked as an environmental professional since 1989. His 22 years of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) experience includes more than a decade of working with Federal, state, and city agencies throughout the nation and nine years working with the U.S. Air Force on a variety of projects. His relevant project experience includes a variety of transportation, aviation, construction, flight test, weapons system acquisition, and base closure and reuse projects. A graduate of the University of North Dakota, he is a geographer and Soviet Specialist by academic training. His involvement in the Section 106 process began in 1994. Since then, he has evaluated thousands of buildings nationwide and is recognized as an architectural historian and historian with a specialization in railroads, aviation, highways, military, industrial, and scientific or highly technical property.
